Born on a perch

This thing,
free poetry, thoughts, jigs, diddles, back alley wordsmiths
Uncut disjects, critical Avant-gardes weaving lost tracks,
elegant messengers married to unraveling fall backs
Where have you been?
What have you seen?
What it is that has brought you here to digest and contribute to this here blog?
This thing
we can’t see or feel or touch or hear or taste
but we can use it.
We can use the idea of it
to see and feel and touch and hear and taste.
The production of poetry,
Machines in heads pressing
Out files and flies.
Foundries of frothy prose dis-engagers,
Alliteration button applicators,
Free-verse incabulators,
Meticulously well tuned
