May Day

with 4 comments

May Day! May Day!
Our ship is in need
of saving. We’re sinking
from bailing out greed

of rich corporations–
which steal, jeopardizing
our health, education,
and bust organizing.

These free trade agreements
have cost us our jobs,
Destroyed the environment
Set up sweat shops.

And they strike with the hand
of their army, police,
to smash us from Portland
to the whole Middle East.

And if those tormentors
just will not suffice,
The C.I.A, Blackwater,
FBI, ICE

The IMF, World Bank,
W – T – O
Are to thank
for homelessness, hunger, and woe.

May Day! May Day!
Let there be mutiny
We don’t need a captain
with solidarity.

May Day! May Day!
There’s still hope to float
if we take to the waves
instead of just vote.

Se Puede! Se Puede!
We can cast off the wars
which are waged on us daily,
step onto the shores,

Save Our Selves, if we choose
through our shared labor pains,
having nothing to lose but our chains.
